Professional Pressing & Steaming for Your Wedding Day
From 100-year-old museum pieces to family heirlooms, we use Nashville’s most advanced eco-friendly technology to restore and protect the garments that matter most.
Your wedding gown is likely the most intricate garment you will ever wear, and it deserves more than a standard steam. At Oakwood Cleaners, we provide professional pressing and steaming services to ensure your gown is aisle-ready and flawless. As Nashville’s only Certified Wedding Gown Specialist™, we understand the unique architecture of bridal fabrics, from heavy satin to the most delicate lace. We don't just "flatten" wrinkles; we restore the gown’s original silhouette so you can walk down the aisle with total confidence.
What to Expect
Specialist Finishing
Every gown is handled by a Certified Wedding Gown Specialist™ trained in bridal textile care.
Expert Inspection
Before pressing, we perform a detailed inspection to ensure no loose threads or minor repairs are needed before your event.
Pristine Delivery
Your gown is returned meticulously hung and protected, ready for your wedding morning.
Fiber-Safe Tensioning
We avoid high-pressure steam that can damage delicate fibers. Instead, we use professional tensioning equipment and hand-finishing to safely remove wrinkles while maintaining the dress's shape.
Timelines & Scheduling
Because wedding gown prep requires individual attention from our lead specialist, we recommend scheduling your pressing at least 2–4 weeks before your wedding date. While our standard dry cleaning turnaround is 4 days, bridal garments require a dedicated timeline to ensure museum-quality results.

Frequently Asked Questions
How soon before my wedding should I have my gown pressed?
We recommend scheduling your professional pressing 2 to 4 weeks before your wedding date. This ensures your gown is ready for final portraits or fittings while remaining crisp and fresh for the ceremony.
Why is a "Specialist" press different from a regular dry cleaner’s press?
Regular dry cleaning often uses high-pressure steam that can crush delicate bridal fibers or flatten intricate lace. As Certified Wedding Gown Specialists™, we use professional tensioning equipment and hand-finishing techniques to restore the gown's original silhouette without risking damage to the fabric.
Do I need an appointment for a gown pressing evaluation?
Yes. Because every gown has unique architecture, from heavy satin layers to delicate hand-beading, a Specialist must evaluate the garment in person to provide an
accurate timeline and firm quote.
How do I get my gown home without it wrinkling again?
Your gown is returned meticulously hung and protected in plastic that is filled with air to
minimize movement and prevent new wrinkles during transport. You are provided with an eco-friendly, breathable garment bag to transfer your dress when you get it to its destination.
What if I’ve already had my gown cleaned elsewhere but it needs a final press?
We offer standalone steaming and pressing services to ensure your gown is aisle-ready, regardless of where it was purchased or cleaned. Through our membership in the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists, we also provide a complimentary inspection and press for gowns originally preserved by any fellow Association member.
Can you fix minor issues like loose threads or missing beads during the pressing?
Yes. Before the pressing process begins, we perform a detailed inspection. If we find loose threads, minor repairs, or loose embellishments, we can address those to ensure your gown is in perfect condition before your big day.
